April 22th - April 29th

Italia ship, launched in the Wiswa shipyards of Danzica in 1993 for a Dutch company with the name “Swan fan Makkum”, was used as a charter to the Antilles until 2006. In 2007 it was purchased by the “Tender to Nave Italia Foundation”, Non-profit organization consisting of the Italian Navy and the Italian Yacht Club, and is managed by the Italian Navy with regards to the crew, composed of active duty personnel, while operating expenses are managed directly by the Foundation through donations. The Foundation is governed by a Directors Board appointed by the Founders, which also has the task of approving the therapeutic, educational and training projects proposed by a Scientific Committee which then manages them in the spirit of the guiding principles of the Foundation.

Italia ship, the largest sailing brigantine in the world, 61 meters long and capable of accommodating more than 24 guests over the crew. 9.20 m wide with a glaze of 1300 square meters, power of 480 Hp and a mast of 44.60 m. Italia Ship is not a simple floating hotel, but a place where research, education, training and therapy projects are carried out, as well as the training of those who work in contact with discomfort. A corsair university, mobile, financially autonomous, which joins the existing structures to be a meeting and exchange point for different and international experiences: an ambassador of educating, formative and supportive Italy in the seas of the world.
